Today, after breakfast, you will travel approximately 78 kilometers to the holy Lake Manasarovar (at an altitude of 4500 meters). Spending time at the abode of the gods is considered a deeply significant experience. You will stay overnight at a lodge on the shores of Lake Manasarovar.

Day 6 Arrival at Darchen – Base Camp for Kailash

After breakfast, you will undertake an hour’s drive to Darchen, which serves as the base camp for the sacred Mount Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation). The rest of the day is set aside for further acclimatization to the altitude and for preparations needed for the Kailash Parikrama.

Day 7 Beginning the Kailash Parikrama – Trek to Diraphuk

Your Kailash Parikrama begins today. You will first drive approximately 10 kilometers to Tarboche, also known as Yam Dwar (the Gate of the God of Death). From here, you will commence your trek, which will take approximately 4 to 5 hours, leading you to Diraphuk (at an altitude of 4890 meters). You will stay overnight at a guesthouse in Diraphuk, offering magnificent views of the north face of Mount Kailash.

Today marks a significant and often challenging part of the Parikrama. You will continue your trek (approximately 22 kilometers) towards the revered Dolma La pass, situated at a high altitude of 5600 meters. At the pass, pilgrims often offer short prayers. Following this, you will descend towards Gaurikunda, a holy lake associated with Parvati. Your day concludes with an overnight stay at a guesthouse in Zhulthulphuk (altitude 4790 meters).
