Badrinath – The Final Destination of Char Dham Yatra

The name Badrinath is derived from the local word ‘Badri’, meaning berry. According to Hindu legends, Lord Vishnu meditated here under the harsh Himalayan conditions. To protect him, Goddess Lakshmi is believed to have taken the form of berry trees and shielded him from the scorching sun. Today, Badrinath is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations, attracting thousands of devotees and tourists every year.

🙏 Badrinath Temple

The Badrinath Temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, worshipped here in dual form as Nar and Narayan. The deity, carved from black Shaligram stone, draws countless pilgrims seeking spiritual blessings. The temple is one of the 108 Divya Desams and is considered a vital stop in the Char Dham pilgrimage.

💧 Tapt Kund & Narad Kund

Located near the temple is Tapt Kund, a natural hot water spring believed to have healing and medicinal properties. Adjacent to it is Narad Kund, where it is said that Sage Narada composed the sacred Narada Bhakti Sutra. Pilgrims traditionally bathe in these kunds before entering the main shrine.

🏔️ Mana Village

Known as the last Indian village before the Tibetan border, Mana Village is a place of great mythological and cultural significance. The Vyas Cave is believed to be the spot where Sage Vyas composed the Mahabharata with the help of Lord Ganesha. Nearby, the Ganesh Temple marks the legendary location of this divine collaboration.

🌉 Bheem Pul

According to legend, during the Pandavas’ final journey to heaven, Bheema placed a massive rock across the Saraswati River to create a bridge for Draupadi. This rock formation, known as Bheem Pul, remains a mystical natural marvel and is associated with the Mahabharata epic.

🌊 Saraswati River

The mythical Saraswati River flows near Mana Village and holds deep spiritual value. It is believed that the Rigveda, one of the oldest sacred texts, was composed on the banks of this sacred river.

🌄 Vasudhara Falls

Located around 6 km from Mana Village, the Vasudhara Falls are a hidden gem for nature lovers and trekkers. The trail offers mesmerizing views of the snow-capped Himalayan peaks and the glacial-fed Alaknanda River. It is said that only those with a pure heart can witness the falls in their full glory.
